MMM Advisory Committee
This external committee advises on the scientific direction of the MMM division which may include participating in planning retreats, providing comment to the division’s strategic plan and/or documents prepared for NSF review of the division, and advising on the future direction and focus of specific programs within the division. The Advisory Committee last met as a full group at the MMM Retreat in 2005 and the chair and one member participated in the NESL Advisory Committee which met in November 2008. Membership changes on a rotation basis and will be modified prior to future meetings.

MMM Management Committee (M3MC)
This internal committee is comprised of the division’s highest levels of management and meets to discuss and decide upon priorities, goals, budgets, issues, and directions for the division, as well as internal and external risks, opportunities, and policies and procedures. The M3MC meets on a monthly basis.

MMM Visitor Advisory Committee (VAC)
This internal committee, comprised of MMM senior scientists, advises the Division Director on the selection of long-term visitors and on the allocation of funds from the designated visitor budget.
This committee meets two times a year, once in early Spring, once in the Fall.

MMM Computer Advisory Committee (CAC)
This internal committee is responsible for establishing divisional computing priorities and policies, and long-range strategic planning and budgeting for future computing acquisitions. The Committee also provides oversight of the divisional web pages. All CAC meetings are open to any interested MMM staff and visitors. The last meeting was held December 2007 and the next is scheduled in January 2009.

WRF Advisory Committees
MMM supports the WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) Modeling System and although the division is not responsible for any of the following WRF advisory groups, a link to the WRF website is provided here as a reference. The coordination of the WRF development effort is handled through several layers of joint management, incorporating all of the constituent groups, as well as outside advisory positions.
