For participants who are not renting a car at the airport in Denver, there is a shuttle service called the SuperShuttle that runs between the Denver International Airport (DIA) and Boulder. It makes stops at various Boulder hotels and other sites for a one-way cost of $18.00. For a higher fee, the airporter will take you to any address you request, even if it is not on their list of regularly scheduled stops. The shuttle bus typically runs once every hour. There is no need to make advanced reservation when you come to Denver- just stop by their desk at the DIA and purchase a ticket. If you need a pick-up from Boulder and vicinity, call them directly. Their phone number in Boulder is 303-444-0808.
In Boulder, NCAR has its own free shuttle service, which runs every 30 minutes from approximately 7:00 am to 6:00 pm weekdays between NCAR's Mesa Lab and Foothills Lab (the site of the ANF Workshop). One of its stops is located at the Crossroads Mall, a large shopping center which is eerily half boarded-up, but which is situated right across the street from the Best Western Golden Buff Lodge, making this hotel an ideal choice for those who are not renting a car. Besides the Golden Buff, the Millenium Hotel Boulder, although further from the mall, for those who enjoy a bit longer walk, is still within walking distance of this shuttle stop.
(In addition, for those who do not plan to rent a car, two hotels, the Residence in by Marriot and the Courtyard by Marriot, are located within walking distance of Foothills Lab. It is about a 20-minute walk from the Courtyard; the Residence Inn is somewhat closer. More detailed information on hotels may be obtained by calling the numbers given above.)
