Sherrie Fredrick and Jay
Miller continued to support the CEDRIC (Custom Editing
and Display of Reduced Information in Cartesian space) software
system that is used for the analysis of regularly gridded
datasets from both numerical models and observational systems.
Miller provided overall
guidance regarding scientific needs and support to users of
the MMM-developed software system for data analysis. These
software packages continue to be used heavily by both domestic
and foreign researchers at universities and government agencies.
Fredrick modified the CEDRIC
source code to import WRF-model output data. These modifications
include the calculation of several diagnostic variables from
model output fields, as well as regridding from the staggered
grid to a regularly-spaced one. De-staggering is done in order
to facilitate the comparison of model-generated and observed
data fields.
