CEDRIC software system support
Sherrie Fredrick and Jay Miller continued support of the
CEDRIC (Custom Editing and Display of Reduced Information
in Cartesian space) software system that is used for the
analysis of regularly gridded datasets from both numerical
models and observational systems. This software package continues
to be used heavily by researchers at universities and government
agencies, both domestic and foreign.
Fredrick modified CEDRIC source code to import data from
operational forecast models that output the Grids in Binary
(GRIB) format. This addition, along with the previously implemented
ability to read network Common Data Format (netCDF) datasets,
will significantly improve the ability to analyze and compare
several numerical model and observational datasets in a common
framework.
