The server empress is the MMM print server for the Windows computers. Printers are installed through a login script for Windows 2000/XP systems.Currently, the printers are available to anyone in the CIT Domain. Others within the organization can connect to our printers to print a document for you. If this becomes a problem, we can set permissions to deny access to our printers.
Below is a list of the divisional printers which are located around the division.
All PCs on the Domain are configured to access all of these printers.
| Printer Name | Location | Model | Features |
| tangerine | 2091 | QMS 2060 | black & white, duplex |
| plum | 2067 | QMS 2060 | black & white, duplex |
| kiwi | outside 3059 | QMS 2060 | black & white, duplex |
| mango | outside 3072 | QMS 2060 | black & white, duplex |
| bing | 2046 | Xerox Phaser 6200 | color, transparency tray, duplex |
| lime | outside 3084 | HP 4550N | color, transparency tray, Legal size tray |
There are some special purpose printers in the division that were purchased for groups such as USWRP and the Director's Office. These printers have restricted access
| Printer Name | Group | Model |
| orange | Director's Office | Xerox Phaser 6200 |
| pear | Director's Office | HP-GL/2 |
| guava | USWRP | HP 4500N |
Since printers are installed with a login script, there is no need to install printers. If you experience any problems with printing, make sure your system is on the network and try logging off the system and logging back in.
However, if someone outside MMM needs to connect to our printers, they can do so by clicking on the Start menu, then Search and select For Printers. In the location field, enter MMM and click on Find Now. The printers in MMM will be displayed. Right-click on the printer to install and select Connect.
Open the Printers Folder. For Windows 2000 systems, click on the Start menu, then Settings and select Printers. For Windows XP systems, click on Start, then click on Printers and Faxes. The printer that has a check mark on it, is your current default printer. If you want to change your default printer, then right-click on the printer you wish to set as your default printer and select Set as Default Printer. A check mark will appear on that printer.
You can search for printers by clicking on Start, then Search and selecting For Printers. Printers listed in the Domain should have the division acronym assigned to it. So if you wish to search for printers in ACD, simply enter ACD and all printers in that division should appear.
You can manage your documents in the print queue. Open the Printers Folder. Double-click on the printer for which you want to view the documents. Highlight a Document in the list, and under the Document menu select the action you want to perform. For example, if you want to cancel the document, select cancel under the Document window.
You will need to have Web Content enabled to view the status of a printer. Open the Printers folder, under the Tools menu select Folder Options. In the area labeled Web View select enable Web Content in Folder. Select a printer (by clicking once on it), on the left side of the window the printer status should appear.
The QMS 2060 printers (tangerine, plum, mango and kiwi) have the ability to duplex print. Not all applications' print dialog box looks the same. In Microsoft Word, to print in duplex mode, open the document. Under the File menu, select Print. This will display the Print dialog box. Select Properties, then Layout and choose flip on long edge. In some applications (like Internet Explorer) there will be a Layout tab available on the main print dialog box.
