. 10th Annual WRF User's Workshop

 

Overview

The 10th WRF Users' Workshop will take place at the NCAR's Center Green campus, Boulder, Colorado, on 23-26 June 2009.

Call for Papers

Papers focusing on WRF model development and testing are solicited, particularly in the area of model numerics and physics, model verification, regional climate, high-impact weather, hurricanes, regional climate, data assimilation, ensemble forecasting and atmospheric chemistry. Authors may request either an oral or poster presentation. We encourage authors to consider submission for poster presentation due to time constrains for oral sessions.

Workshop schedule will be posted on the web by June 5.

Instructional Sessions, Friday, 26 June

Short tutorial sessions will be offered for:

MET (http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/),

VAPOR (http://www.vapor.ucar.edu),

GSI (Gridpoint Statistical Interpolation),

Satellite Radiance Data Assimilation (WRF-Var),

IDV (http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idv/), and

NCL (http://www.ncl.ucar.edu){tentative}.

WRF Helpdesk

In addition to the Developer Forum (or Q&A Session) during the workshop, WRF helpdesk will open for several sessions for users to discuss their special issues with developers.

All workshop activities will be finished by noon Friday, 26 June 2009.

Deadlines

Short abstract submission: 4 May.

Extended abstract submission: 10 June.

Early registration: 12 June.

Workshop Publication

All workshop presentations and abstracts will be published on the web (you may indicate that you do NOT want us to publish your materials, when you submit it). Extended abstracts in PDF format can be submitted via the registration page.

Workshop Registration Fees

The early registration fee is $175.00. If you register after 12 June, the registration fee will be $225.00.
