WRF Users' Workshop

Overview

The annual WRF users' event will take place at the NCAR's Center Green Campus, Boulder, Colorado, on 20 - 24 June 2011

June 20 (Monday afternoon): Fundamentals of WRF Physics (Part 2: Planetary boundary layer and land surface)
June 21 - 23: The 12th WRF Users' Workshop
June 24 (Friday morning):  Instructional Sessions (NCL, VAPOR, and WRF 4DVAR.

Call for Papers

The objectives of the Users' Workshop are to discuss model development and to evaluate model's performance. Hence, papers focusing on development and testing in all areas of model applications are especially encouraged. Authors may request either a poster or oral presentation. We would like authors to consider submission for poster presentation due to time contraints for oral sessions.

Workshop schedule will be posted on the web by June 3.

Instructional Sessions, Friday, 24 June

Short tutorial sessions will be offered for:

VAPOR (http://www.vapor.ucar.edu),

WRF Four-Dimensional Data Assimilation, and

NCL (http://www.ncl.ucar.edu).

WRF Helpdesk

During the workshop, WRF helpdesk will open for several sessions for users to discuss their special issues with developers.

All workshop activities will be finished by noon Friday, 24 June 2011.

Deadlines

Short abstract submission: 6 May

Extended abstract submission: 10 June

Early registration ends: 3 June

Late registration begins: 4 June

After 3 June 2011: No refunds for cancellations

Workshop Publication

Short abstracts will be distributed during the workshop. Workshop presentations and extended abstracts will be published on the web (you may indicate that you do NOT want us to publish your materials, when you submit it). Extended abstracts in PDF format can be submitted via the registration page, and will appear on the web before the workshop.

Workshop Registration Fees

The early registration fee is $200.00. If you register after 3 June, the registration fee will be $250.00.
