AIRCRAFT OBSERVATIONS DURING FROSTFIRE

The U.S.D.A. Forest Service's Piper Navajo was instrumented with both infrared and visible videocameras, operated by Terry Clark, as well as a 4-channel visible-infrared scanner, run by Bob Higgins (USDA Forest Service, Riverside Fire Laboratory). A GPS system, operated by Larry Radke, recorded the aircraft's location during all flights, allowing us to pinpoint fire features.
