Archive of WSI Radar Composites

This page contains links to several years' worth of national radar composites from WSI Corp. The data format switches from HDF to native NOWrad format in 2002. While native NOWrad format is easily read and displayed by GEMPAK, the format is proprietary. Additional processing of the data requires translation to another format. The author uses Meteorological Data Volume (MDV) File Format, a standard at the Research Application Laboratory of NCAR. If you are interested in translating to MDV try this software and contact Dave Ahijevych. Some files have already been translated to MDV and are available here.

The radar composites have been an invaluable resource. Unfortunately, after a hardware/software failure in September 2007, we decided to cancel our subscription. Sorry about the inconvenience.
