Hi! Welcome to my NCAR web-page. I am a member of MMM's Data Assimilation Group. I arrived at NCAR in 1999 following 6 years at the UK Met. Office, and a previous life studying astrophysical magnetohydrodynamics in academia. My research interests are a) Advanced Data Assimilation techniques (4D-Var, ensemble filters), b) Polar NWP, and c) The Utilization of High-Resolution Satellite Radiances. I also lead NCAR's contribution to the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) community model's variational data assimilation effort (based on the "WRF-Var" system), and lead WRF's Advanced Data Assimilation Working Group (WG10).
