-
Operations-related software that uses WSR-88D wideband Level II data.
- ATD-developed
software at NCAR. Includes radar data visualization (SOLO and
ZEBRA) and radar data gridding (REORDER) packages. ATD/RDP also has
a translator to read a variety of radar data input formats and to
write these in Dorade format or UF. There are also software
packages for environmental sounding and aircraft data measured from
NCAR/ATD research platforms. The ATD software packages were
developed mainly for visualization of these data sets.
- MMM-developed
software at NCAR. Includes radar visualization and analysis
(PPI-MMM), radar data gridding (SPRINT), and gridded-data analysis
(CEDRIC) packages. Both PPI-MMM and SPRINT can read WSR-88D Level
II, Dorade (including SOLO-generated sweep files), and Universal
Format (UF) radar data. All MMM software packages were developed
mainly for the analysis of radar data in the original radar
sampling space and in the gridded domain. This includes the
visualization both of basic input radar data and of new fields
that have been derived from the radar measurements, including
synthesized wind fields.
