The 24th BMB-NCAR Project Meeting

1. Discuss the project progress

Jiqin showed the EXP53 verification based on GPS observations. It looked good. Jiqin showed rainfall threshold score of EXP53. There was something unreasonable with the TS scores and that meat the precipitation verification package should be checked to ensure providing dependable score.

Jiqin made maps of precipitation forecast of EXP53. Compared with observation, the assimilation of GPS PW data did impact the distribution of rainfall in some cases, while made unobvious impact in others. Jiqin plans to do further work on case 20050900, in which rainfall prediction benefits much from assimilation of GPSPW data
