The Fourth Meeting Memo of BMB-NCAR Project

Main contents:

1、 Discuss the project progress since last meeting：①Under the help of Dr. Guo and Wei Huang, all kinds of the systems on IBM bluesky are ready. Shui-Yong now is updating WRF and WRFVAR to v2.1. But he found a problem in the new WRFVAR v2.1. Dr. Guo and Shui-Yong have talked about it and solved it. ②Shui-Yong showed some results of 710 case simulations and some issues were raised. ③Shui-Yong introduced the work of preparing the MM5 interface for gen_be. He wanted the interface in 3DVAR framework and Dr. Guo thought this part should be separated from 3DVAR framework. Dr. Guo gave incomplete code which was prepared for computing gen_be stage0 for MM5, so Shui-Yong could continue to complete it.

2、 Make a task list for Shui-Yong：①Prepare the verifications of BMB operational forecast from Jun1-7,2005. ②Replace mm53dvar by WRFVARV2.1, make and verify the MM5 forecast from June1-7,2005, and then compare the verifications. ③Write a note on all of the 710 data. ④Complete the work of gen_be.
