The 31^th BMB-NCAR Project Meeting

1. Dr Wang has received the data and scripts for both WRF and MM5 tests performed in BMB. NCAR staff has run one case and further conclusions will be available a few days later. Dr Wang will provide a list of plotting namelist files with which BMB staff will plot the model outputs to identify whether they the same as NCAR staff’s results. A detailed README file will also be provided by BMB staff to explain the structure of the directories of the scripts and data cd.

2. A plan about WRF model tuning has been submitted by Dr Wang. BMB hopes Dr Wang can spend more time during the very first 3 month of the third year (March to June, 2007) on this project as BMB’s system should be ready in the end of June. Zuofang Zheng will be responsible for WRF’s local tuning under the guidance of Dr Wang.

3. During Shui-yong’s future 3-month stay in NCAR, he will focus on the tuning of WRF-based 3km/3hr cycling system. He will also spend some time to help Dr Wang to set up the BMB cycling system on NCAR’s computing platform if necessary. A set of 3-km cycling WRF results should be ready before Shui-yong’s departure for the purpose of BE calculation and comparison.

4. A draft of the detailed working plan for the third year has been provided by Min. Director Wang suggested that the intensive sounding data at 06 and 18 UTC should be added as a data type of OSE experiments. Min will prepare an updated version of the working plan with all comments and suggestions.
