Telephone conference call

Participants: AirDat - Peter, Brian, MMM - Yongsheng, Xin

• Contract has been signed and sent to NCAR, MMM hasn't been notified yet.

• Need four accounts on AirDat machine for Xin, Ruifang, Hongli, and Yongsheng, limited access permission is needed; Bryan has compiled WRFNL and WRF+, Xin will set up newest code on AirDat machine; Xin will contact Bryan directly if there is any technical issue.

• No specific preference from AirDat in model setup (finial goal would be something like 12-km NAM domain). MMM will use similar domain but with coarser resolution. Peter will consult AirDat meteorologists to choose certain cases. Peter will provide observation files in little_r format (one for TAMDAR, one for other conventional data which is converted from MADIS). Peter will also provide informations about TAMDAR error characteristics and AirDat current realtime WRF-Var system configuration.

• MMM will try to start two tasks at the same time: implementing TAMDAR observation operator and testing current WRFDA system.
