Work done:

• Airdat opened an account for us to test the code on its IBM machine; The WRF-Var compiled successfully there.

• Observation operator and quality control precedure are done.

• Disk IO is updated to memory IO in WRF-Plus; The re-constructure of wrf adjoint model doesn't finish yet.

Work on going:

• Summarize the test experiment results to show how the TAMDAR data works in WRF-Var.

• Test the performance optimization of WRF-4Dvar system since the disk IO has moved to memory IO.

• Prepare for a real case study; Ask Peter for help in case choise, model setup et.al.

• 3-Dvar cycling data assimilation and forecast experiment should be carried out firstly, and then start 4D-var experiment.
