1.Work review

 

1.1. Statistics

 

The divergence tendency field should be changed to divergence field.

Hans suggested 1) changing some figure formats, 2) investigating the fast oscillation problem in total precipitation tendency field and why there is no latent head flus over the Yellow Sea, 3) plotting dpsdt tendency map together with sea level pressure. He also wanted the domain average dmudt and the description of the diagnosis package.

 

1.2. DFL

 

Ju-Won should extend the period of the cycle DFL test to one week.

Min started working on a cycle script. She still needs to decide whether to use the KMA configuration or the BMB configuration.

Hans asked Min to finish the DFL text.

 

1.3. Backward integration

 

Wei got the backward integration work for the B-Wave.

 

1.4. DFI

 

Min got the cycle DFI test, Ju-Won help to do that. However, the backward integration crashes in the filter span is long.

Hans asked Min to write README for DFI and DFI text.

 

1.5. Others

 

Hans suggested finding a verification package to verify the DFI and DFL results. Need to contact Yongrun Guo.

We should do more tests on oneÕs own parts.

 

2.Work plan for two weeks

 

All: try to understand the strange oscillations in total precipitation tendency statistics.

 

Hans: test the new code; review the notes, one by Min and one by Ju-Won; review the DFI README; select a verification package.

 

Wei: check the horizontal diffusion and the correctness of the backward integration.

 

Min: check the lateral boundary treatment in the backward integration; select a case for BMB or KMA domain; compare between DFL and DFI results with table and figure for the event; start to run cycles; help to find verification package; write some text about the DFL and DFI.

 

Ju-Won: select cases for KMA domain and send to Min; find a wrf verification package with Min; fix the diagnosis package about divergence field, new figure formats.
