Synoptic Charts for the NCAR Nested Regional Climate Model



General Description

The NCAR Nested Regional Climate Model (NRCM) simulation depicted below is nested in version 3 of the CCSM using the A2 scenario. The simulation was generated using version 2.1.1 of the WRF-ARW at 36-km horizontal resolution, and was run for three time slices (1995-2005; 2020-2030; 2045-2055). Other specs include: Kain-Fritsch cumulus scheme, WSM6 microphysics, Noah land surface, YSU PBL, and CAM3 radiation. The CCSM was bias-corrected for current climate prior to initialization of NRCM.

Note that the twice-daily (0000 and 1200 UTC) charts for August and September provided here show a subset of the full NRCM domain, and that the data were degraded to 0.5 degree horizontal resolution prior to plotting.
