| Abstract | Space weather events pose significant societal risks, disrupting critical infrastructure and communication systems. To improve prediction and resilience, the NSF NCAR launched the ESPAT initiative, focusing on understanding Earth system predictability, including the space environment. The recent ESPAT Space Weather Workshop brought together experts to identify research gaps, explore AI/ML applications, and strengthen partnerships. The workshop results will inform the ESPAT roadmap and align with national priorities outlined in the Decadal Survey, ultimately advancing the ability to predict and mitigate space weather impacts. |
