Antarctic WRF Mesoscale Prediction System (AMPS)

The Antarctic Mesoscale Prediction System—AMPS— is an experimental, real-time numerical weather prediction capability that provides support for the United States Antarctic Program, Antarctic science, and international Antarctic efforts. AMPS produces numerical guidance from the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model and the Model for Prediction Across Scales (MPAS) with twice-daily forecasts covering Antarctica. The National Center for Atmospheric Research runs AMPS through support from the National Science Foundation Office of Polar Programs.
