  • Congratulations to Josh Hewitt, Jennifer Hoeting, James Done and Erin Towler for their paper Hewitt et al. (2018) "Remote effects spatial process models for modeling teleconnections" being selected as the recipient of the 2018 Wiley-TIES Best Environmetrics Paper Award.

2017

  • Congratulations to Josh Hewitt (CSU) who won the American Statistical Association's Section on Statistics and the Environment student paper competition for his paper 'A Geostatistical Approach to Modeling Teleconnections'. With that award he won $1000 for travel expenses to present the paper at a special session for the award at the ASA meeting in Baltimore at the end of July, 2017.

Our former project manager Anjuli Bamzai explains "Advance knowledge of a drought even a month or two ahead of time can greatly minimize the effects on society". This story was picked up by many national media outlets.
